 I am Ron Patterson, President of Ron Patterson Insurance Agency.
I began my insurance career with Safeco Insurance in 1973 as a marketing representative for the metroplex. I was later relocated along with my family to Oklahoma where I served as the marketing representative for Oklahoma from 1973 to 1975. I was then promoted to area marketing manager from 1975 to 1977. I then found an opportunity to go into the agency business in 1977 in Dallas where I learned the personal lines, financial services and commercial lines business. I opened Ron Patterson Insurance Agency in 1983 with one customer service representative and represented three different insurance companies. Aetna was one of the companies. The relationship grew with the Travelers merger in 1996. The agency became a Travelers Elite in 2001. An Elite agency is in the top 5% of Travelers agencies in the country. I served as an enthusiastic member of the Travelers National Producer Council for three years and learned many wonderful marketing ideas from fellow members. Travelers just delivered the 2007 Elite agency plaque just this last year.
I have served three different terms on the board of Director for the independent insurance agents of Dallas. I have been a mentor to the young agents in the agency & have enjoyed watching the professional development of all the young producers over the past several years.
My wife and I attend Saturn Road Church of Christ in Garland, Texas where I serve as a Deacon. I am a past president of the Garland Rotary Club and served on numerous Independent Insurance agents of Dallas committees.
I write commercial lines and especially active in writing contractors, artisan contractors, Churches, restaurants, main street business and technology accounts, directors and officers liability & professional liability. I also write group auto and home for commercial clients and provide financial services to my customers. |

 I began my insurance career in August of 1996 upon graduating, with a BBA in Marketing with honors, from Harding University in Searcy, AR. I entered the insurance world with the primary focus of helping families with insuring their homes, cars and other toys they may have including boats and RV’s.
Since my beginnings with the agency, I have expanded the scope of my professional services to include a broad array of expertise with insuring non profits, churches, technology firms, third party administrators, manufacturers and wholesalers. I have addressed numerous complex insurance issues such as direct imported products from overseas, professional liability (E&O) for technology firms doing business in the USA, Europe and China, and addressing the professional liability (E&O) for third party administrators who provide various insurance products, benefits, billing or claims administration.
I enjoy working with businesses and families alike who are looking for a professional, well educated (I have the Certified Insurance Counselor professional designation) agent to help guide them with their insurance decisions. |

 I began working with The Ron Patterson Insurance Agency in 2002. Prior to working with our agency I went to Harding University in Arkansas and graduated with a degree in Business Management. I furthered my education by getting an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas in 2001. I received my Certified Insurance Counselors, CIC, designation in 2006.
I enjoy helping businesses and families come up with solutions to their insurance needs. To properly advise clients, I recommend having one agent for all of your insurance needs.  Upon completion of obtaining my B.S. in Business Management from William Jewell College, I began my insurance career in 2002 with Farmers Insurance. I moved to Ron Patterson Insurance Agency in March of 2003 to enhance my opportunity to help a broader scope of clients, and to pursue a career in both personal and commercial insurance. In November of 2006, I successfully obtained the distinguished CIC designation.
My goal is to partner with and advise each of my clients on the proper insurance coverage’s and limits needed for their particular need. I specialize in insuring a wide range of industries. I have worked with world wide wholesale operations and severe product manufacturing plants to financial and banking institutions and non-profit-organizations. I will work hard to create a comprehensive insurance program for each of my clients’ business and/or personal assets. |

 I am a graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas. I have seen several sides of the insurance industry, from being a liability adjuster to owning my own agency, to being and indpendent agent. As an independent agent I am able to shop the insurance marketplace for my clients and advise them on ways to reduce and transfer risk, reduce insurance costs, and improve their coverage.
With regards to commercial insurance, I am perfectly qualified for handling insurance in most industries. My areas of expertise are in the hospitatility and construction industry. I work closely with several A+ rated companies that have designed programs specific to these industries. Included in these programs are risk control evaluations and loss prevention programs to help prevent losses from occuring and identify areas of potential problems.
I am primarily a commercial agent although I began in insurance writing personal lines business only. I am very versed in the different home policies available in today’s Texas marketplace. As of today there are well more than 100 different policies available and each one is different. Many policies do not include broad water coverage and they do not include coverage for damage to your house from a leaking pipe in your foundation. I help my clients choose a policy that includes as many of these things as possible so come claim time they have a contract in place that will provide coverage for what’s important to them.

 I am a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Risk Management and Insurance was my major. UNT is one of the few schools that has a degree plan that offers risk management and insurance as a major and I feel that I bring a vast understanding and knowledge to the table when it comes to helping business owners and home owners alike with their insurance needs. After graduation I quickly realized that the independent insurance channel suited me best. As an independent agent I can offer my clients a variety of products and companies that fit their unique insurance needs. My goal is to provide my clients with the best experience when purchasing their insurance and to give them a comprehensive analysis of their individual needs. I am committed to this industry and will work hard for my clients to not only protect their assets but give them peace of mind.

 I entered the Insurance Industry in 1974, initially offering life insurance and mutual funds to families. I have since expanded the scope of my activities to include all personal lines and commercial lines of coverage.
With many years of experience with both insurance companies and agencies I have become proficient in coverages for families as well as a variety of businesses.
